From the instrument to the listening system
A workshop does not hand over a sequence to repeat. It invites participants to encounter the character of the instruments and develop listening able to distinguish gesture, resonance, dynamics and relationship with space.
The programme is built around the person or group. The aim is not to imitate a method, but to develop criteria for recognising the possibilities, limits and directions of one’s own research.
Gesture and resonance
Every instrument responds differently to gesture and space. The work brings attention to these differences and to how a minimal variation can transform the overall perception.
Gongs, bells, tuning forks, strings, percussion and other instruments become fields to explore rather than sonic formulas associated with predetermined effects.
Acoustic and electronic in dialogue
Technology can widen the field of action without replacing the quality of listening. Microphones, electronics, field recording and spatial sound are considered in relation to what they genuinely make possible.
The focus remains on coherence. Building a personal setup means choosing what serves one’s direction while avoiding complexity without a perceptible function.
Building autonomy
The workshop provides no universal script. It offers tools for observation through which participants can develop their own language and make coherent decisions in personal practice, composition or work with others.

Is it suitable for a complete beginner?
Yes. Content is adapted to the starting level without assuming musical or technical knowledge.
Do I need to own instruments?
No. Kendra has a wide range available. If you already own instruments, you can bring them and work on your real setup.
How long does it take and what does it cost?
Duration and fee depend on the goal, number of meetings and individual or group format. A clear structure is proposed after a short initial enquiry.
