Each encounter offers time to observe the sound field: what enters the foreground, what remains in the background, where attention moves and which details become recognisable.
It is neither a concert nor a therapeutic practice, but a guided experience of listening and observation, open to people with no musical background. The cartography grows through the relationship between what is heard, the place and each participant’s perception.
Sound, space and attention
Gongs, bells, other acoustic instruments, electronics, environmental recordings and silence are organised to guide attention through different levels of listening.
They do not seek to impose a feeling or interpretation. They offer reference points for distinguishing resonance, distance, continuity, pauses and change.
Place participates in the experience
Space is not simply the container of the practice. Distance, resonance, silence, environmental sounds and the qualities of the landscape alter what we perceive and how we relate to our surroundings.
For this reason, each encounter changes with the people present, the sonic qualities of the place and what emerges in the moment.
A cartography in motion
This cartography is not a definitive geographical map. It develops by connecting experiences, environmental recordings, images, notes and traces gathered while travelling.

Before taking part
Who is it for?
Anyone wishing to dedicate time to listening and train their attention to detail. No musical knowledge or previous experience is required.
Where and when does it take place?
It can take shape at Kendra, in natural environments, hospitality venues, architectural spaces and cultural settings. Confirmed dates and participation details are published in What’s on.
Can a venue or festival host it?
Yes. The project is adapted through a conversation about place, group size, timing and organisational conditions.
